Bharatha Vilas is a 1973 Indian Tamil-language film directed by A. C. Tirulokchandar and co-written by him alongside composer Ilaiyaraaja.
The story revolves around Gopal, played by Sivaji Ganesan, and Gowri, played by K. R. Vijaya, professional sales rivals who share accommodation in a house owned by Naidu, an Englishman, and his Kannada wife.
Gopal and Gowri get married on the same day they resign from their jobs, with initial financial support provided by Naidu's family to launch their business venture.
The film features an ensemble cast, including prominent actors from other languages playing guest roles in a song. A Punjabi family led by Baldev Singh moves into one part of the house, while a Malayalee Muslim family led by Ibrahim takes up residence in another section.
