Synopsis
Asathal is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language comedy film written and directed by P. Vasu.
The film stars Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan, with Swathi as Catherine and Vadivelu as Venugopal in supporting roles. Ramesh Khanna plays Victor, among others.
Produced by Mala Cine Creations, the film features music composed by Bharadwaj and was released on May 18, 2001.
The film is a remake of the 1990 Malayalam film Thoovalsparsham, which was earlier remade in Tamil as Thayamma.
Starring Sathyaraj as Vetri, Ramya Krishnan as Gowri, Swathi as Catherine, Vadivelu as Venugopal, Ramesh Khanna as Victor, Ajay Rathnam as Jayaraj, and Manivannan as Lawyer, the film was produced by S. Rajaram under Mala Cine Combines.
Directed by P. Vasu, the filming of Asathal was completed within 37 days in a bungalow at Neelankarai, Chennai.
