Appu

Appu is a 2000 Indian Tamil-language romantic action thriller film directed by Vasanth and starring Prashanth, Devayani, and Prakash Raj.

The film is a remake of the Hindi film Sadak (1991) and tells the story of Appu, a taxi driver haunted by his past when his sister was killed by a powerful pimp. He becomes embroiled in a love affair with Seetha, who is also sold to a brothel managed by Maharani, a transgender.

As Appu tries to save Seetha and exact revenge on the pimp responsible for his sister's death, he loses friends and lovers along the way. Ultimately, love blossoms between Appu and Seetha, but at great cost.

The film was released on June 16, 2000.
