Akka Thangai is a 1969 Indian Tamil-language legal drama film directed by M.A. Thirumugam. The film stars Jaishankar, K.R. Vijaya, and Sowcar Janaki in its leading roles.
The movie follows the relationship between two sisters, Janaki and Vijaya, as Janaki makes significant sacrifices to help her younger sister pursue a career as an advocate. However, their lives take a tragic turn when fate leads them into conflict with Vijaya's husband during a murder case investigation.
The film features music composed by Shankar-Ganesh and won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Second Best Film.
