Agraharathil Kazhutai is a 1977 Tamil satirical film directed by John Abraham and written by Venkat Swaminathan.
The movie stars M. B. Sreenivasan as Narayanaswami, a college professor, alongside Swathi.
The story follows Narayanaswami who adopts an orphaned donkey named 'Chinna' after its mother is killed in Madras. He raises the animal but faces significant ridicule from his community and colleagues at his Brahmin-affiliated institution for bringing up a non-Brahmin creature.
Despite initial controversy, the film gained cult status over time and was recognized with the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil.
