About Mella Thirandhadhu Kadhavu
Mellathiranthathu Kanavu (1986) directed by R. Sundarrajan and produced by AVM saw Isaignani Ilaiyaraja working together with Mellisai Mannar M.S. Viswanathan to produce the songs and background score for the film.
Ilayaraja who was himself a big fan of M.S. Viswanathan volunteered to work with the legend. M.S.V. composed the songs and Ilayaraja did the orchestration. The film went on to be become the biggest hit of the year and had several hit songs including "Vaa Vennila Unnai Thaane Vanam Theduthe" and "
Kuzhaloodum Kannanukku".
Many years later, in an interview to Sun TV R. Sundarrajan recalled how Ilayaraja was moved into tears of joy when M.S. Viswanathan composed the tune for the song Vaa Vennila.
