Synopsis
Vishwaroopam 2 is an Indian action spy film directed by Kamal Haasan and written by Atul Tiwari and Chakri Toleti.
The film serves as both a prequel and sequel to its 2013 predecessor, centering on RAW intelligence agent Major Wisam Ahmad Kashmiri. Wisam's task is to eliminate Al-Qaeda member Omar Qureshi, who plans to attack New York City. However, Wisam faces further traps and conspiracies while thwarting this new threat against three democratic nations.
The movie primarily takes place within India, a departure from its predecessor which was set in the United States. Reprising actors Rahul Bose, Shekhar Kapur, Pooja Kumar, and Andrea Jeremiah feature in the film alongside Kamal Haasan.
Vishwaroopam 2 was simultaneously shot in Hindi and Tamil and later dubbed into languages including Telugu and Malayalam. It was produced by Kamal Haasan and V. Ravichandran in Tamil, with promotion handled by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor in Hindi as Vishwaroop II.
