Vellai Pookal

Vellai Pookal (Dandelions) is a 2019 Indian-American Tamil language film directed by Vivek Elangovan and starring Vivekh.

The story follows Rudhran, a retired police officer from Tamil Nadu, who travels to his son's home in the United States. Upon arrival, he meets his daughter-in-law and becomes acquainted with their neighbors in this seemingly welcoming community.

However, the tranquility is short-lived as individuals within Rudhran's social circle begin disappearing under mysterious circumstances, presumed dead by authorities. As a retired police officer, Rudhran's instincts awaken, prompting him to take matters into his own hands and investigate these disappearances himself.

The investigation unfolds, revealing that Rudhran is entangled with a dangerous serial killer operating locally. His quest for answers transforms from a casual curiosity into an intense obsession when someone close to him becomes missing.

Rudhran navigates this complex case alongside some of the people he has met along the way, forming unlikely alliances in what quickly escalates beyond just solving disappearances; it involves confronting powerful local gangsters engaged in criminal activities across different regions including parts of India and America.
