Synopsis
Vadakkupatti Ramasamy is a historical comedy film released in 2024, written and directed by Karthik Yogi.
The film stars Santhanam and Megha Akash as a selfish, money-minded charlatan who exploits the superstitious beliefs of his fellow villagers for his own gain.
When his primary source of income, a temple, is shut down, he devises numerous strategies to reopen it. The title of the film is based on a name mentioned in a comedy scene from Uthama Raasa (1993), and it is based on a real incident that happened in the 1960s and 1970s.
The soundtrack was composed by Sean Roldan, and the film was shot in a single schedule of sixty-three days. The film began streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 12 March 2024.
