Thugs

Thugs is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Brinda and starring Hridhu Haroon, Anaswara Rajan, Bobby Simha, Munishkanth, and R. K. Suresh in the lead roles.

The film is a remake of the Malayalam movie Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil (2018) and follows the lives of several gangsters residing in Kanyakumari as they navigate their daily experiences, challenges, and complexities within the criminal underworld.

Sethu Padmakumar, played by Hridhu Haroon, is sentenced to imprisonment for second-degree murder but earns favor from the head warden after foiling an escape plan. However, he is tormented by a gang whose plan he spoiled, leading him to decide on an escape attempt.

With the help of his cellmate Durai, Sethu devises a plan to escape, motivated in part by his wife's vulnerability to random men at their workplace marketplace.

The film was released on 24 February 2023.
