Synopsis
Thangalaan is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language action-adventure film directed by Pa. Ranjith and co-written by Tamil Prabha and Azhagiya Periyavan.
The film draws inspiration from true events and delves into the lives of mine workers in the Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka during the British Raj era.
Starring Vikram in five roles, supported by Pasupathy, Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Daniel Caltagirone, and Hari Krishnan, the plot unfolds as a fierce tribal leader sets out to stop an apparent sorceress after earning her wrath when assisting a British general in tracing gold in their village.
Produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green, the film features music composed by G. V. and was shot sporadically in several legs across filming locations including Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, Madurai, and Karnataka.
