Thambi

Thambi is an action thriller film released in 2019 as part of the Suriyaa franchise.

The movie was directed by Jeethu Joseph and co-written by Rensil D'Silva, Sameer Arora, Jeethu Joseph, and K. Manikandan.

The film stars Jyothika as the central character, a sister who has settled into a routine life following her younger brother's departure years earlier. Sathyaraj portrays the elder brother, while Karthi plays the lead younger brother (Thambi). Nikhila Vimal and Ammu Abhirami feature prominently in supporting roles.

Thambi follows his return home after being absent for over a decade. His sister experiences excitement at his comeback, but their seemingly normal lives are disrupted when Thambi finds himself threatened by an unknown individual from his past.

The music and background score were composed by Govind Vasantha. The film was jointly produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Parallel Mind Productions and received positive reviews from critics, becoming a commercial success upon its release on December 20, 2019.
