Thalaimuraigal

Thalaimuraigal is a 2013 Tamil-language film directed by Balu Mahendra.

The movie follows the story of Subbu, an old man who is estranged from his son when he marries a girl from another caste. However, his perspective on life changes when his grandson comes to stay with him in the village.

The film features music composed by Ilaiyaraaja and stars Master Karthik as Aditya, Balu Mahendra as Subbu, Sashikumar Subramani as Sivaraman, Ramya Shankar as Stella, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan as Sivaraman's sister, and Sasikumar in a cameo appearance.

Thalaimuraigal was released on December 20, 2013, and won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration at the 61st National Film Awards.
