Synopsis
Sumo is a 2025 Indian Tamil-language sports comedy film directed by S. P. Hosimin and starring Shiva, Priya Anand, and Yoshinori Tashiro.
The film follows the story of a sumo wrestler who washes ashore near Chennai and its impact on local surfer Shiva and his girlfriend Kani.
Produced by Ishari K. Ganesh under Vels Film International banner, the movie features VTV Ganesh, Yogi Babu, and Sathish in supporting roles, with technical crew members including cinematographer Rajiv Menon, editor Praveen K. L., and composer Nivas K. Prasanna.
Released in theatres on 25 April 2025 to mixed-to-negative reviews, the film explores themes of truth, loyalty, and the bonds of the heart that can rise above borders and power.
