Synopsis
Sembi is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language adventure drama film directed by Prabhu Solomon.
The film features Nila, Kovai Sarala, and Ashwin Kumar Lakshmikanthan in lead roles, alongside Thambi Ramaiah, Nanjil Sampath, and Pala. Karuppiah plays supporting characters.
The story is uniquely narrated by a bus named Anbu, which shares the stories of its 24 passengers as they journey from Kodaikanal to Dindigul.
The film's music was composed by Nivas K. Prasanna, while M. Jeevan handled the cinematography and Buvan took care of the editing.
Released theatrically on December 30, 2022, Sembi received highly positive reviews from critics.
The story follows 10-year-old Sembi (Nila) and her grandmother Veerathayi (Kovai Sarala), an apiarist, who live peacefully amidst nature in the hilly regions of Kodaikanal. However, their life is shattered when three influential miscreants gang rape Sembi.
