Synopsis
Saivam is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language drama film written, directed and produced by A. L. Vijay.
The film features Nassar in the lead role and child actress Sara Arjun plays another pivotal role.
The story revolves around Kathiresan nadar, the head of a large family with three sons and a daughter and their respective families, who gather at his home for vacation.
When they visit their temple, ill-fated events occur, leading them to believe that forgetting to perform a ritual sacrifice involving the slaughter of a rooster is the cause of their problems.
The film's cinematography was handled by Nirav Shah and music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar.
It was released on 27 June 2014 to positive reviews, and was later remade in Telugu as Dagudumootha Dandakor (2015), with Sara Arjun reprising her role.
