Synopsis
Rooban is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language devotional film written and directed by Ayyappan.
The film stars Vijay Prasath and Gayatri Rema in lead roles, alongside Arumugam Kaliappan, Karur Elang Karthikeyan, Raja Manogaran, and Ganja Karuppu in supporting roles.
The plot revolves around a childless couple who decide to adopt an orphan. However, their peaceful life is disrupted when a tiger appears in their village, sparking widespread superstition among the villagers.
Forest officers impose restrictions on movement in an attempt to capture the beast, but some villagers, who are pilgrims, choose to defy the orders during a fasting ritual. This defiance leads to a tragic outcome when four villagers are found dead.
The film explores the consequences of superstition and defiance in the face of danger, set against the backdrop of a rural Indian village.
