Synopsis
Pothanur Thabal Nilayam is a 2022 Tamil-language heist film written and directed by Praveen.
The film features Praveen himself in the lead role, alongside Anjali Rao and Venkat Sundar, and was released on May 27, 2022.
Set in the 1990s, the plot centers around ambitious entrepreneur Praveen, who has only 36 hours to locate a significant sum of stolen money to save his family.
Production on the film began in August 2015, with Praveen assembling a technical team of young short filmmakers from Coimbatore to assist him. The film was launched under his own studio – Bicycle Cinemas – and took five years to complete.
The story focuses on the Podanur Post Office, the oldest post office in Coimbatore, which has been functioning since 1886.
