Synopsis
Pattas is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language martial arts film written and directed by R. S. Durai Senthilkumar and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films.
The film stars Dhanush in a dual role as Sakthi, a resourceful young man residing in a Chennai slum who survives through petty theft. Following his father Velappan's death, Sakthi discovers Adimurai, the ancient and oldest form of martial arts.
As he embraces this discipline, an ominous figure along with his son emerges to challenge Sakthi for a high-stakes kickboxing tournament. This confrontation thrusts Sakthi into a perilous situation where he must confront these adversaries directly.
The film follows his journey as he agrees to participate in the tournament, navigating its challenges while honing and mastering Adimurai. The supporting cast includes Sneha, Mehreen Pirzada, Naveen Chandra, Nassar, Munishkanth, and Manobala.
Production commenced in March 2019 and concluded by December of that year before its release on January 15, 2020, coinciding with Pongal. The movie was released theatrically to mixed reviews from critics but became a box office success.
