Moondram Pournami is a Tamil film directed by Raveendhar and starring Janaki Ram.
The film tells the story of Muthiah Sathappan Chettiar, also known as Kannadasan, a multi-faceted personality who was a poet, film song lyricist, producer, actor, script-writer, editor, and philanthropist. Born on 24 June 1927 and passing away on 17 October 1981, Kannadasan is celebrated as one of the greatest and most influential lyricists in India.
The film explores Kannadasan's life and contributions to literature and cinema, including his wins of the Sahitya Akademi Award for his novel "Cheraman Kathali" in 1980 and the National Film Award for Best Lyrics in 1969 for the film "Kuzhanthaikkaga".
