Synopsis
Tungiparar Miya Bhai is a 2021 Bangladeshi biographical film directed by Selim Khan and co-directed by Shamim Ahamed Roni.
The movie focuses on early events in the life of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who later became the First President of Bangladesh. The central figures portrayed are Bangabandhu (Sheikh Mujibur Rahman) and his wife Fazilatunnesa Mujib Renu, played by Shanto Khan and Prarthana Fardin Dighi respectively.
Filming took place between August and September 2020, capturing scenes at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC), Dhaka University, and various locations in Chandpur. The film was produced by Pinky Akter under the Story Shapla Media banner.
Tungiparar Miya Bhai received critical recognition upon its debut at a film festival, where it won awards for two distinct categories. It marked the final cinematic appearance by Shanto Khan before his passing later that year.
