Metro

Metro is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language action crime film directed by Anandakrishnan and produced by himself.

The movie stars Shirish in his debut alongside Bobby Simha and Sendrayan, with Arivu played by Shirish, Mathiyazhagan (Mathi) played by Bobby Simha, and other characters played by Sendrayan.

The story revolves around Arivu, a writer for a newspaper, and his elder brother Mathi, an engineering student at college. Their middle-class family life is disrupted when Mathi faces pressure from his girlfriend to get a new bike, leading him into conflict with local thieves involved in "chain snatching" activities near Chennai's outskirts.

Released on June 24th, 2016, Metro received positive reviews from critics and was a box office success in Tamil Nadu. It later gained wider recognition when it was dubbed into Telugu under its original name and remade in Kannada as Siliconn City (2017).
