Synopsis
Maayanadhi is a 2020 Indian Tamil language drama film directed by Ashok Thiagarajan in his directorial debut. The film explores themes centered around family dynamics and personal aspirations.
The central narrative revolves around the relationship between a father and his daughter, Kousalya, played by Venba. Their peaceful dynamic is disrupted when Kousalya falls in love with an auto driver, introducing significant conflict within her family unit.
The film follows the father's journey as he attempts to manage this situation, trying to reconcile his feelings for his daughter with the reality of her choice. His efforts are focused on helping her pursue a specific goal mentioned in relation to her dream – becoming a doctor.
Maayanadhi features a cast including Venba, Aadukalam Naren, Abi Saravanan, Appukutty, and Thamizh Venkat. The music was composed by Bhavatharini, with cinematography by Srinivas Devamsam and editing by Gopi Krishna.
The film was produced by Ashok Thiagarajan himself, under his newly established Raji Nila Mukil Films (RNM FILMS) Productions banner. It was officially launched in February 2018 and released on January 31, 2020.
