Synopsis
Maaveeran Kittu is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language period action drama film written and directed by Suseenthiran.
The story centers on Krishnakumar, alias Kittu (played by Vishnu Vishal), whose primary ambition is to become a collector. He receives significant influence from Chinnarasu (R. Parthiepan), a local leader who also sponsors his education.
Set in 1987, the film portrays Kittu's struggle against pervasive caste discrimination faced by him and others like Gomathi (Sri Divya). Despite their efforts to challenge this deeply entrenched system, they encounter immense difficulty due to the bias prevalent within both the police force and the judicial system.
Kittu actively fights for the rights of his community. The narrative explores these battles against societal prejudice and state-sanctioned injustice during that specific historical period.
