Kuttrame Thandanai is a 2016 Tamil neo-noir psychological thriller film directed by M. Manikandan and produced under Don Production, co-produced with Tribal Art Productions.
The story centers on Kuttram (played by Vidharth), an individual suffering from tunnel vision due to an eye defect for which he cannot afford corrective surgery. He witnesses a young woman being murdered in broad daylight but refrains from intervening or reporting it immediately because of his visual impairment preventing clear identification and description.
Later, the suspects approach him directly, offering money to keep quiet about the incident. This presents Kuttram with an intense moral dilemma: he is tormented by guilt over not acting despite knowing what happened, yet simultaneously tempted by the financial security offered by the criminals who committed the crime against someone else.
The film stars Vidharth, Pooja Devariya and Aishwarya Rajesh in the leading roles. The supporting roles played by Rahman, Nassar, Guru Somasundaram, G. Marimuthu and Yogi Babu made guest appearances. The story is based on the novel "Crime and Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoevsky.
The film follows Kuttram's internal conflict as his condition worsens, using his keen observation skills to blackmail his way past two suspects in the murder of a girl in his neighborhood.
