Synopsis
Kaatru Veliyidai is a 2017 Indian Tamil romance film written and directed by Mani Ratnam, starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari.
The film's narrative structure centers on Varun, a fighter pilot who finds himself imprisoned in Pakistan following the Kargil War. While incarcerated, he reflects on his past romantic relationship with Leela.
The soundtrack album for the film was composed by A. R. Rahman and won him the National Film Award for Best Music Direction in the "Songs" category at the 65th National Film Awards.
