Jil Jung Juk is a 2016 Indian Tamil neo-Western post-apocalyptic black comedy film directed by Deeraj Vaidy in his feature directorial debut.
The film stars Avinash Raghudevan and Sananth alongside the three titular characters: Jil, Jung, and Juk. The plot revolves around these three individuals who are assigned a perilous task by a drug lord to transport drugs during their journey.
As they undertake this mission, they encounter numerous challenges and absurd situations typical of the film's black comedy style. Set against a gritty post-apocalyptic backdrop, the story explores themes common in fantasy comedy cinema through their high-stakes adventure.
The development process began with Deeraj Vaidy producing a pilot film featuring two leads in 2014. Siddharth commissioned a full script from Vaidy, which was completed by January 2015. Filming concluded after 38 days of principal photography across locations like Tiruvallur, Chennai, and Kanchipuram.
Announced in September 2015, post-production took four months to complete. Vishal Chandrashekhar handled the music composition while Shreyaas Krishna managed cinematography; Kurtz was responsible for editing.
The film follows three characters – Jil, Jung, and Juk – who are assigned by a drug lord to transport drugs. They face struggles during their journey. The trio's unique dynamics and personalities are highlighted as they navigate difficulties together in this unusual context.
