Jackson Durai is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language comedy horror film directed by Dharani Dharan and released on July 1, 2016.
The plot revolves around Sub-Inspector Sathya who is dispatched to the village of Aynpuram following reports that an old British-era bungalow there is haunted by a ghost named Jackson. His mission: to prove definitively that there are no ghosts in the village.
Upon arrival, Sathya encounters Viji, the beautiful daughter of the village headman. He becomes romantically interested in her. Simultaneously, Veera arrives seeking Viji's hand in marriage and learns about Sathya's mission from villagers. This leads to a challenge: both men must spend a week inside the haunted bungalow without turning off any lights or leaving until morning; the loser will forfeit their claim to Viji.
The film is based on the theme of the classic goth story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and features music composed by Siddharth Vipin and editing by Vivek Harshan. It stars Sathyaraj, Sibiraj, and Bindu Madhavi in leading roles, with Karunakaran, Rajendran, and Yogi Babu playing supporting roles.
