Irandu Manam Vendum is a 2016 Tamil drama film directed by Pradeep Sundar and starring Saji Surenderan.
The movie tells the true story of a ten-month-old baby boy who becomes separated from his family during the devastating tsunami that hit Nagercoil. The child is subsequently adopted or raised by an elderly judge in a different location.
The narrative follows this young protagonist through his formative years under the judge's care and guidance, before the truth about his background surfaces when his real parents unexpectedly reappear seeking him.
As the reunion creates significant conflict for both parties involved – the child grappling with questions of identity and belonging, and the judge wrestling with her role as a surrogate mother versus that of an adoptive parent – the film explores themes of family, belonging, and identity.
