Synopsis
Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal is a 2014 Tamil romantic comedy drama film directed by S. R. Prabhakaran and starring Udhayanidhi Stalin and Nayanthara.
The film tells the story of Kathir, a Madurai-based minibus owner who falls in love with his neighbor Pavithra, despite her engagement to Gautham. Mayil, a friend from college, becomes Kathir's confidant and helps him navigate his feelings.
Santhanam and Sunder Ramu play important roles in the film, while Saranya Ponvannan and Chaya Singh play supporting parts. The movie is produced by Red Giant Films, with cinematography by Balasubramanium and art direction by V Selvaraj.
The film opens with a prologue, followed by Kathir's story, which reveals his devotion to Lord Anjaneya and his reluctance towards women due to this devotion. However, he eventually falls in love with Pavithra, who is already engaged to Gautham.
