Eli

Eli is a 2015 Indian Tamil-language spy comedy film directed by Yuvaraj Dhayalan and starring Vadivelu.

The film is set in the 1960s and follows the story of Elisamy alias Eli, a petty thief who aspires to become a police officer. He is recruited by the police to infiltrate a gang involved in an illegal cigarette smuggling scheme.

Eli's mission involves befriending with Kappal, the right hand of the powerful cigarette smuggler Nagaraj (Pradeep Rawat). The agreement between Eli and the commissioner is that if he finds enough evidence to arrest Nagaraj, he will get his dream cop job.

The film features music composed by Vidyasagar and was released on June 19, 2015. It received mixed to positive reviews and became a box office success.
