Synopsis
Diary is a 2022 Tamil-language supernatural mystery thriller film directed by Innasi Pandiyan and starring Arulnithi.
The movie follows Varadhan Annadurai, a sub-inspector trainee, as he embarks on a mission to solve a 16-year-old unsolved murder case of a newly married couple who were killed in their honeymoon.
The film is partially inspired by real events surrounding the 13th Hair pin bend in the Indian National Highway connecting Ooty and Coimbatore, as well as the folklore of Bus route 375 from China.
The film was shot extensively across Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Coonoor, Ooty, Mettupalayam, and Coimbatore. It features Arulnithi in the lead role, alongside Pavithra Marimuthu, and is produced by S. Kathiresan.
The music and score are composed by Ron Ethan Yohann, with cinematography handled by Aravinnd Singh and editing done by S. P. Raja Sethupathi.
The film was initially scheduled for release on August 11, 2022, but got postponed and released on August 26, 2022, via Red Giant Movies, distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin.
