Synopsis
Bayama Irukku is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language horror comedy film directed by Jawahar and written by him as well.
The film stars Santhosh Prathap and Reshmi Menon, with Kovai Sarala, Rajendran, Bharani, Jagan, and Lollu Sabha Jeeva in supporting roles. The music was composed by C. Sathya, while the editing was done by Mahendran.
The plot centers on a group of close-knit friends who become concerned when one member reveals personal issues with his wife. They develop a strong belief that their friend's wife is being actively possessed by an external malevolent force and decide to intervene directly.
The friends seek out help from an exorcist, hoping he can identify and expel whatever they believe is controlling the wife's behavior. The narrative unfolds as these friends actively participate in arranging and potentially overseeing this exorcism attempt to save their own troubled companion and his spouse from what they perceive as a terrifying supernatural affliction.
The film is an unofficial remake of the Thai film Pee Mak, and it had its theatrical release on 22 September 2017.
