Yayathi is a 1938 Indian Tamil-language film directed by M.L. Tandon and produced by Mohan Movietone of Madurai.
The movie stars P.U. Chinnappa and M.V. Rajamma in the lead roles, based on the life of King Yayati from the Mahabharata's Adi Parva section.
The film features a musical score by Papanasam Sivan with 25 songs, many available as 78 rpm records today, sung primarily by P.U. Chinnappa.
Manik Lal Tandon directed the movie, despite being filmed in Calcutta, and there were reportedly clashes between Chinnappa and Tandon during shooting.
The film was released in 1938 and is a Tamil-language production.
