Synopsis
Vikram is a 1986 Indian Tamil-language action spy film directed by Rajasekhar and written by Kamal Haasan and Sujatha.
The film stars Kamal Haasan, Sathyaraj, Amjad Khan, Lissy, Dimple Kapadia, Charuhasan and Janagaraj. It is the first Indian film to use a computer for recording its songs.
The plot centers on Vikram, a police officer who has lost his wife. He is tasked with retrieving a missile and aided in this mission by Preethi, a highly educated engineer whose knowledge is crucial for disarming the nuke it carries. The story also involves Ashraf Hussain, Francis Adaikalaraj, and RD Bohra, who are convicted of anti-national activities.
Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Vikram received mixed reviews from critics but achieved significant commercial success at the box office.
A spiritual successor with the same name was released in 2022, with Haasan reprising his role of the title character.
