Vidyapathi is a 1946 Indian Tamil-language film produced by M. Somasundaram and Mohideen under Jupiter Pictures, directed by A. T. Krishnasami.
The story follows a young man who insists on marrying only after genuinely wooing someone. He responds to an advertisement in a matrimonial column but is robbed on his way, leaving him with nothing except a loin cloth. He encounters a fake sadhu who trains him to become a yogi.
Meanwhile, a zamindar neglects his wife and daughter due to his affair with a devadasi dancer. The sadhu introduces the transformed young yogi to this young woman, ostensibly for financial gain. However, they develop genuine feelings for each other. After various complications, the young man and the woman marry.
The film stars T. R. Ramachandran, T. Premavathi, and K. Thavamani Devi in the main cast.
