Vettai

Vettai is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film directed by N. Linguswamy.

The film stars Arya and R. Madhavan in the lead roles, alongside Sameera Reddy, Amala Paul, Ashutosh Rana, Nassar, and Thambi Ramaiah in supporting roles.

The story follows two brothers, Thiru Murthy (Madhavan) and Guru Murthy (Arya), who are poles apart in character. Their father was a constable, but after his demise, Thiru takes on the same duty due to his lack of bravery. Guru assists his elder brother and helps him build courage to face his fears.

The film was co-produced by N. Linguswamy, written and directed by him. The music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with cinematography and editing handled by Nirav Shah and Anthony.

Filming began in March 2011, after a lengthy pre-production phase, and the film was released on January 14, 2012, coinciding with Pongal festival. It became a commercial success.
