Vegam

Vegam (2007) is an Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by K. R. Udhayashankar and starring Ashwin Shekhar and Veda.

The movie revolves around Ashwin, who runs an event management company, and romances Archana. When Ashwin travels to Malaysia to meet her, he comes across a telephone call from a woman in distress.

A former cop Sriman kidnaps a housewife Selvi and her son, demanding a tape that Selvi knows nothing about. As the situation escalates, Selvi repairs her phone and dials an anonymous number, which is answered by Ashwin. He becomes entangled in her desperate plea for help.

The film is an unofficial remake of the American movie Cellular and was later remade again in Tamil as Nayagan.
