Synopsis
Vazhakku Enn 18/9 is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language crime thriller film written and directed by Balaji Sakthivel.
The story follows Velu, a fun-loving fellow who falls in love with Jyothi, a servant maid. Aarthy also resides in the apartment, where she unknowingly falls for Dinesh, a student with a wayward life.
A series of events unfolds, leading to a crime committed by one of the residents. Inspector Muthuraman takes on the case.
The film features newcomers Sri Natarajan, Urmila Mahanta, Manisha Yadav, and Mithun Murali in lead roles. Cinematography was handled by Vijay Milton, while R. Prasanna scored the music.
The story is narrated through flashbacks, with Pa. Velucham as the main character. The film was released on 4 May 2012 to high critical acclaim and has spawned several remakes in other Indian languages.
