Vannakili is a 1959 Indian Tamil-language film directed by T. R. Raghunath and produced by T. R. Sundaram under Modern Theatres.
The story revolves around a village landlord who proposes an alliance to Mayan, a farmhand, instead of his daughter Saraswathi being in love with him. He suggests marrying Mayan's sister, Vannakili. Concurrently, a local Poochie forcibly marries Vannakili against her wishes and controls her through force.
As the new wife in this forced marriage, Vannakili faces challenges including being a stepmother to Poochie's daughter. However, despite his initial dominance and her initial reluctance, she uses her inherent goodness and old-world values to positively influence both him and the child.
The film stars Manohar, Prem Nazir, B. S. Saroja, and T. R. Ramachandran. It was released on 4 April 1959 and proved successful upon its release.
