Vanasundari is a 1951 Indian Tamil-language film directed by T. R. Raghunath and produced by S.M. Letchumanan Chettiar.
The movie stars P. U. Chinnappa as Prince Gunasagaran, who harbours resentment towards his father King Marthandan for neglecting state affairs in favour of entertainment.
Following the prince's banishment along with his friend Adhi Medhavi (played by T. S. Balaiah), they arrive at another kingdom ruled tyrannically by Kapaleekaran, the younger brother of its king.
His lover Leela effectively governs this cruel regime while Vanasundari (portrayed by T. R. Rajakumari) is held captive there.
Adhi Medhavi is falsely accused and imprisoned for theft.
In a forest encounter, Gunasagaran meets Vanasundari, and they share their respective misfortunes before he promises to rescue her.
The film follows the subsequent events with various twists and turns leading to a happy ending.
