Vanaraja Karzan (1938) is an Indian Tamil-language action adventure film directed by Homi Wadia and Nari Ghadiali. The film stars John Cawas and K. R. Chellam.
The plot follows Kulasekaran, who takes his wife and young son Karzan to the Vanarajapuram forest in search of Amirdharasam (elixir of life). After several days of effort, Kulasekaran discovers the secret of the elixir; he writes it down and locks the paper inside a locket around Karzan's neck.
Vanaraja Karzan was released on 4 June 1938 and became a commercial success. It holds the distinction of being the first Tamil film based on the Tarzan character and the first South Indian jungle-based picture.
