Vana Mohini is a 1941 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Bhagwan.
The plot revolves around a prince (M. K. Radha) searching for his uncle in the forest, where he encounters and falls in love with a tribal girl (played by K. Thavamani Devi). She resides there alongside an elephant who becomes her companion.
Her relationship with the prince is jeopardized when they are captured by a villain. The prince ultimately defeats the villain with the assistance of the loyal elephant, finds his uncle, and marries the tribal girl.
The film was inspired by a Hollywood jungle movie featuring Dorothy Lamour. K. Thavamani Devi's character wore a revealing sarong, an outfit uncommon for Tamil films at that time, which played a significant role in its success. An elephant featured prominently in the story and performances.
