Vaaname Ellai is a 1992 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Balachander.
The story revolves around five young people from diverse backgrounds who are disillusioned with life and collectively decide to end it together. They embark on a 100-day journey attempting to live happily before carrying out their plan, featuring actors Anand Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Madhoo, Vishali Kannadasan, Rajesh, and Babloo Prithiveeraj.
The film was conceived partly as an anti-suicide narrative following numerous real-life suicides inspired by Balachander's own film Ek Duuje Ke Liye. The story involves five characters from different backgrounds, who, vexed with their lives, jointly decide to end their lives together, but begin a short journey of 100 days to live together happily before dying.
The film was released on May 22, 1992, and Balachander won the Filmfare Award for Best Director – Tamil.
