Vaalmiki is a 2009 Indian Tamil-language film directed by G. Anantha Narayanan.
The story follows Pickpocket Pandi, a petty thief who leads a happy-go-lucky lifestyle with his friends, but always lands in prison due to his antics. He meets a girl named Vandana, a well-behaved woman who is attracted to him despite their differences. A flower-seller Kanaka forms the third angle in their lives.
The film marked the directorial debut of Anantha Narayanan, who earlier assisted Shankar and Gandhi Krishna. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja and lyrics were written by Vaali.
Akhil stars as Pandi, with Meera Nandan playing Vandana and Devika as Kanaka. Other notable cast members include Manivannan and Badava Gopi.
