Synopsis
Vaa Arugil Vaa is a 1991 Indian Tamil-language supernatural horror film.
The film stars Ramya Krishnan, Raja and Vaishnavi in the lead roles.
The plot revolves around a young woman whose wealthy background was initially believed by her new husband but later discovered to be false.
Her financially struggling in-laws devise schemes to exploit her, including manipulating her into looking unfaithful to tarnish her reputation and force her out of the home so they can find a suitable bride for their son.
After being ostracized following one such scheme involving a manservant, she eventually returns home to find her husband has died under suspicious circumstances.
The film's concept was inspired by the 1988 American movie Child's Play and was later remade in Kannada as Aathma Bandhana.
