Unakkaga Oru Roja is a 1985 Indian Tamil-language film directed by K. S. Gopalakrishnan. The movie stars Ambika and Mohan in the lead roles.
The story revolves around Suresh, an economically poor man with family responsibilities, who falls in love with Ambika, his colleague at work. However, their happiness is short-lived as Ambika's silent lover, Mohan, lends her support when she finds herself in a difficult situation.
Meanwhile, Suresh's neighbor Anuradha, a rich and spoilt brat, tries to persuade him to marry her for financial gain. When Anuradha meets an untimely demise, Suresh returns to Ambika, leaving her to choose between the two men.
The film features Ambika as a strong-willed and independent woman, who appears in crisp cotton sarees, unlike typical Tamil heroines of those days. The movie also highlights Mohan's wardrobe and Suresh's portrayal as an economically poor responsible son.
