Unakkaga Naan is a 1976 Indian Tamil-language drama film produced by K. Balaji and directed by C. V. Rajendaran.
The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganesan, Lakshmi, and Vennira Aadai Nirmala in the lead roles.
It follows two close friends, Raja and Ramu, who are as brotherly as they wear identical clothes. After a confrontation with a union leader at Raja's mill leads to personal insult and challenges for Raja, Ramu assumes the identity 'Shankar' and joins the factory, gaining the workers' trust and rising through their ranks.
However, upon becoming the new union leader, Ramu/Shankar realizes that the laborers are living in poverty under the previous system. This understanding creates a conflict for him, as he now leads the very people his friend claimed were problematic.
The film was released on 12 February 1976 and is a remake of the 1973 Hindi film Namak Haraam.
