Thyagu is a 1990 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by S. P. Muthuraman and written by Sivasankari.
The film is produced by AVM Productions and based on their novel "Oru Manithanin Kathai," which was previously serialized in the magazine Ananda Vikatan from 1978 to 1979. The story was also adapted into a popular TV series of the same name starring Raghuvaran.
The lead role is played by Raghuvaran, who reprised his part from both the novel and its TV adaptation.
The film explores family issues within its narrative scope and was released theatrically on 5 October 1990. Despite its origins in a successful television format, "Thyagu" failed commercially upon release.
