Thyagam is a 1978 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Vijayan, starring Sivaji Ganesan and Lakshmi.
The film is a remake of the 1974 Bengali film Amanush. It tells the story of Raja, a rich man who falls into poverty after being framed by his accountant Ramasamy, and his journey to redemption with the help of Inspector Prasanth.
Released on March 4, 1978, Thyagam became one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of the year. The film explores themes of love, betrayal, and friendship as Raja navigates his way back to happiness after being wrongfully accused and left by his lover Radha.
